It is why it holds so much of an appeal to the majority.. A place to escape. Yet, apparent reality {to use Jody's term} we cannot escape, as our physical bodies are involved. Of course, this is quite obvious. Now, as well, we do and can escape this apparent reality in many different ways.... And I think we can all say that we do use those methods I listed above to escape, as well as other means. The problem is, in when we use spiritual methods to escape the apparent reality.... The apparent reality, is real on a human level. It is being experienced, it is actually happening... We cannot turn off the "TV" and the movie be over, just because we dont like the actors, or the plot, or the theme.... Unless you wish to kill yourself in a physical manner. What has to be overcome is in our reaction.... The reaction only feeds the apparent reality, instead of focusing on the reality. It is not so much, in determining what is real or not.... But how real am I going to accredit my reaction and their reaction... All I gotta say, Have fun, and have a nice day... I'm expecting company, and wont be online much the next week. And then am leaving for a week long vacation.... I do believe my reality will be very full for a while. Love, Lynette

When "suspending disbelief" and very involved in a movie for 2 hours, is it real? When dreaming, is the dream real? When looking around the room, is it real? At some point, the concepts of reality & unreality can be seen as a 'value judgment' put by the mind. Nothing is real or unreal, only 'what it is'. > Yet, apparent reality {to use Jody's term} we cannot escape, as our > physical bodies are involved. Yes, there's no possibility of escape -- but no reason for one either :-). > Of course, this is quite obvious. Now, as > well, we do and can escape this apparent reality in many different > ways.... In a dream, is it possible to escape? No we don't escape anything, we simply lose interest in one thing and attention gets caught by something else. > And I think we can all say that we do use those methods I listed > above to escape, as well as other means. Speaking for "all" is almost always a mistake :-). > All I gotta say, > > Have fun, and have a nice day... You too.. Love, Tim
