Guest guest
Q: What time is most suitable for meditation ? Maharshi: What is time ? It is only an idea. However you think of it, so it will appear. If you call it time , it is time. If you call it existence it is existence , and so on. Time is immaterial for the jnana path , though certain times are good for beginners. =========== Good thing I am always a beginner . . . Who finds this answer about as much use as a bat in an answering machine? Have no fear - it is a good answer but here is another: People unwilling or undisciplined enough to not meditate - do not. Those in a meditative mind - aware mind can always do meditation as easily as not. So now time . . . On the whole people are more attentive and focused first thing in the morning and before meals. Drowsy after meals and in the evening. If you have great devotion to a Guru you can just stare at a pic or heart visualise them. Or you can be attentive to an inner rhythm such as the breath or a word such as 'harmony'. You can chant. I have just finished my morning puja - being a beginner I have a set time for this. Maharishi like all great souls makes us aware of being beginners. Of course like all great souls compared to that ahead - they are just beginners :-) Lobster Time
