Guest guest
I disagree. provides this service and if they don't stay afloat we will all loose this communication medium. I personally don't even see the ads.Why even focus on them? We also mute all the TV ads when we occasionally watch. Love, Alton Hi, As a recent developement, I noticed that now, you get smacked an ad into your brain, not Only on first page, but Also on almost very single post you view... all this intruding Blinking .. 'CLICK HERE ! CLICK THERE !'.. to me, it is a form of violence.. (Where is it going to stop ?!.. If they could, they would stuff your brain cells with ads of their grand 'offers', even while you sleep !) If you think that it is going too far.. all this forcefull ad/money mongering,.. would it not be a good idea that you as a site-owner express the wish of having it stopped, to the 'top people' ?! .. I know this net affair, is not a democracy, but even so .. But If your advaitan-brain is tickled to give me a lecture on THE vedantic view on this situation, then please do please refrain.. but then, how long will your voluntary slavery, in the name of ..., go on ? Guest guest
Hi Alton, If you prefer reading from the web, simply click on "expand messages" at the top of the list of messages, =BEFORE opening any one message. You can then scroll thru a list of totally ad-free messages and still reply to any message by simply clicking on it. Perhaps this hint could be provided somehow, perhaps by the letter that is sent out when one first s to the list? I agree with you, Alton, these ads are the price we pay for free services. We can't dictate to (or microsoft) how to run their business, unless we have some better free alternative. Besides had to lay off some employees to balance their budget. Guest guest
Hello...... JB How many lists are you on???? They all have advertizements now.... We get to enjoy this list for free... Perhaps we should pay for the service of the community, to help pay the cost it takes to run this... Perhaps we should pay for TV as well... so we do not have to watch the commercials... This is not harsha's fault, it is ... Take your complaint where it needs to be directed please... Paying for TV is common in the USA, it's called "cable" and despite the rather large monthly payments, advertising is shown in quantity on nearly every channel. It points to a quality called "greed" which can never be satisfied... There's a website i to, and it still displays 'popups' and other advertising. Again, the quality "greed." Cheers, Tim
Guest guest
Yep, Tim, I know all about cable TV... ))) But there is free TV... And this is a free list... What is a little advertizing? And who is to judge another as being greedy??? Marketing and advertizing is a part of free enterprise... And I most strongly support free enterprise... dont you? We do live in a free society here, do we not? Love, Lynette - fewtch <coresite <> Wednesday, January 23, 2002 5:44 PM Re: TO SITE OWNER and others: conc.
