Hi Greg,

 

to me, one of the great blessings of gardening is being involved with living

entities that appear to be nearly egoless. Plants and trees do not seem to

wear, to any great extent, those masks of personality that other creatures,

humans included, cannot help but wear.

 

A tree just IS, bestowing its silent presence upon those resting in its

shade. In that, a tree is very close to the Divine Presence.

Michael,

 

This is beautiful! Would you like to write this up for HSS Mag? Maybe 3 or 4

paragraphs on the blessings of gardening? Last issue jerry-san rinpoche had a

nice article about a Zen garden. If interested, send it to me or Gloria, and

we'll put it in HTML format.
