There are lots of valuable books I have read:

the Talks of Ramana and all his works, but also I am That and

Abhishiktananda's Ascent to the Depth of the Heart and some

Christian mystics.

But it was Brunton's "A Search in Secret India" which leads me to Sri

Ramana - so it was the most important book in my life because I have

found my master through it.

Yes indeed interesting, Vicki. What was it you first read about

Ramana?

I found the Brunton-book in a library because it was once a

bestseller and easily available. The "Talks" and other Ramana-books

are not. It is a strange thing with that Brunton-book because many

found through it to Ramana: also Major Chadwick, Bhakta Bhagawat and

many others. Today I would not say that it is one of the best Ramana-

books, but it was the best for me and others to open the door.

Hi Vicki,

I would really like to hear how you came to Ramana in some rough

outlines (need not be detailed and too privatly). It is always

faszinating how different the ways are - with one and the same

result. What was it that drew you to him? Why this guru and no other?

What spiritual background do you have?

I am not sure if you want to be asked about it. So feel free to

answer or not.

Gabriele

(PS. My own story will be found in the next HSmag. It is nothing

secret about it, but because of this I don't give it here now.)
