The Twining Of Lovers

 

Time has been kind to us.

The leaf of spring has renewed its life

in the vines of our desire.

Time has robbed us both

of the fractured images

that we sought to hold before the sun.

 

Light winds of change

have swept the shelters of our deceits

and no more will the winter

find us housed in the hovels of this worlds conflict,

but free to walk revealed in the gardens of joy.

 

My hearts love,

time has been gracious with its adversity.

It has tutored us in the art of death,

that we may live in eternal life.

The garments of fantasy, and surrogate persuasions

that had misled us into darkness,

have been dissolved in one moment of surrender,

and the desert we cried together within

has been watered by tears of forgiveness.

we have become the womb of this love.

 

My twin soul and mirror.

Time has become our cradle

from which we have arisen naked of those idols

that we held so close,

thinking them toys to comfort our child selves.

A new dawn of light has arisen,

and we have entered the morning

undone of a night that hid this holiness.

 

We have given ourselves to the edge of light,

and though I lingered upon the margin

of this twilight kingdom for so long,

I could not withstand your call to vision,

but followed gladly with you into your song.

 

A song that sang of a starlight beyond this you and I,

yet still within this love. Still our love story.

Still this love-play of us both.

The sun has a Sun that lays behind it.

It is the song of two hearts entwined in One Spirit.

That song shines, and sings of the love of us

as we return towards the home of loves awakening.

This two of us is no longer exclusive, but now numberless.

What joy to be this two togetherness of One.
