Guest guest
Found the following in an old issue (July/Aug. 1985) of American Health. Michael --------------------- About half the Harvard students who watched a movie about Mother Teresa of Calcutta - who gives her life to the sick and dying - decided that she must be a fraud, or just too religious. But the students' conscious judgment of Teresa did not keep many of them from experiencing specific benefits at watching her selfless love: The movie stimulated a sharp increase in the Immunoglobulin-A content of student saliva. IgA kills many a virus. It's the immune system's first line of defense... Psychologist David McClelland and his colleagues spent months studying the students who had increased levels of IgA. Using picture story tests, researchers concluded that students unconsciously benefited from the Teresa movie.
Guest guest
This is interesting Mike.. Because there is evidence that passively watching mass produced entertainment TV (soaps, series etc.) does the contrary to health: a deteriorating influence.
