Guest guest
Contemplation's on the workbook lessons of A Course In Miracles. Lesson 5. How long will you stand between the waves and the shore, listening to the cry of seabirds in the wind? This thirst for meaning is the drink also. The world rises before you, as a shadow play. Just ripples in the lake of cognition. If you throw a pebble into a calm lake, is the lake really troubled? Its nature is to be a lake, and all returns to what it is. Play with duality. Blur distinctions. You are right at the point where the wave impacts upon the now, or you have identified with the wave itself. In the field of attachment, great dramas unfold, histories and wars, legendary romances, and comic cuts. You leap bedazzled, from terror to euphoria every day of your life. Pitiful. Remember- You are never upset for the reasons you think. For these reasons, are just a falling thought pebble making waves in an emotional lake. Step back from this sea of troubles. Look from the center of being, and witness all with Love. Soon the play of the world will cease to tug at your sleeve; you will learn to walk into any theater and enjoy the show. Tragedy and comedy are just two masks the world wears when you forget the face of Love. It is always a choice. Witness with understanding, write with a steady hand, or find an excuse. ____________ Lesson 6. Love is the internal inquiry you should seek of everything. If Love does not seem to answer, you have not asked of it. This is what upsets vision. The ‘upset’ has no degree, major or minor the effect on vision remains the same. The world reflects your point of view. If you give it death it plays dead. A squashed fly or the cataclysmic death of a cosmos are just the same degree of upset you give them. You see what is not there, and decide to make it reality. The world is not your truth until you give it truth. So raise an eyebrow to all its works. You are doing all this to yourself. Its an upsetting thought, but true, that any notion we have about the world is the same as your view of God. No wonder we get upset when the world we feared comes back to rattle its chains at us. Just drop those assumptions and opinions, and your eyes will clear. Its the continual overlaying of what is, with what we want, that calls forth the mirage. Stop upsetting non existent apple carts. Give God a chance. love eric Copyright 2002. Eric Ashford.
