Guest guest
Chris & Friends, I was so annoyed at being unable to find anything on my "mystery teacher", that I went back to MSN to check on my old listings and "favorites". The name Phil Servedio mysteriously beckoned, so I punched it up and was soon confronted with the story I previously assigned to Adyashanti. So, first My apologies to Adyashanti. He didn't retract or stop printing his "enlightenment story" on his website, because it was never there. Ironic comments about successful teachers narrowing their focus and not acknowledging their own teachers is, in his case, inappropriate, and I hope I haven't mislead anybody. Phil Servedio's website is: www. heartspace.com and includes the whole "enlightenment story" I had previously attributed to Adyashanti. The teacher who's name escaped my memory was Arjuna Nick Ardagh and his website is livingessence.com. Phil tells of how he came to hire "Arjuna" and generously includes a link to his (Arjuna's) site. After you punch up his Phil's site, look to his "Journal of Awakening". His encounter with Arjuna is set up in the "Early 1995" chapter, and actually begins as "Sat.Mar.18". Finally, Chris (still there?), I want to make clear that I have no direct knowledge or contact with either of these gentlemen, and am not recommending either of them, although I feel that Phil deserves plaudits for the direct and honest way that he tells his story. you'll have to read it for yourself and make up your own mind. I was just struck by the directness and sort of confrontational radiance of Arjuna's style, and something about Phil & Arjuna's encounter made me think you might find it useful as well. Oh, yes, Arjuna is apparently an Englishman who travels and teaches in Europe, as well as America, so he may not be as remote from you as you would think. In any case, Good Luck. yours in the bonds, eric , "eblack101" <EBlackstead@c...> wrote: > Chris & Friends, > > Chris, reading your post I'm reminded of the story that Adyashanti > told of his own enlightenment and how he tried to expose himself to a > solution when he felt himself to be in a situation somewhat like your > own. > > He'd heard of a contemporary of his, in Northern California, I think, > who had already developed a reputation for helping qualified people > through the final problems that blocked a breakthrough. > > I don't have the name of the helper, and I've just checked > Adyashanti's site, and in the 6 months since I read > his "enlightenment story", he has removed it from his site, which is > a pity, since it was the most convincing document I've read on the > internet, a long story with all the details, teachers, etc. It's a > sad reflection, but once a teacher starts getting known, the focus > seems to tighten, and details concerning other teachers and how they > helped are soon eclipsed. > > Check with Jerry at NondualitySalon.com or at his website, > www.nonduality.com and see if he can help you.
