Guest guest
Dear Vicki, you are right that sometimes human greed is connected with organizations. But the problem is the greed, not the organization! An organization as such is neutral; it can be used for good or for bad. Just like a knife - should we say a knife is unspiritual, because it can be connected with murder? And therefore you would never see a Master use a knife? Ridiculous! A knife is just a tool, a means to an end, useful when used well, harmful when used with negative motive. So also with organizations. They are a means to an end, too, and when used well, they can bring untold good to many people. Just think of Mother Teresa's order, or of the Red Cross, etc. And organizations founded by true Masters can do even more. Often they go on for thousands of years, like Swami Shankara's Swami Order. He did tremendous organizational work, which lives on and continues to inspire to this day. Does this mean he was not a Master? Jesus, too, came on Earth not only to meditate in a cave with a handful of disciples. His divine purpose was also to build an organization, a church, as he himself said: "And I say also unto thee, that thou art Petrus, which means rock, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16, 18) Jesus' teachings of love for God and for one's fellow man, of turning the other cheek, were there as a guiding light for the past two thousand years, kept alive through the Christian Church - the organization that he had founded. Mouni Sadhu should have said, "I have never seen a true Master who is greedy." THIS would have been true. Vicki, please be assured that it was not my intent to get into any controversy with you. Just trying to clarify a point. Have a great Passover! Michael PS. Though I come from a Christian background, I have always loved the way the Jews celebrate Passover. I have some friends who do. When the child says, "How is this night different from all other nights?", and then they say how they had been slaves to the Pharaoh, and how they were finally liberated - it is such a wonderful parable for the liberation of the soul in God. Very beautiful and moving. -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: viorica weissman [viorica] Gesendet: Thursday, March 28, 2002 15:59 An: Betreff: Re: Mouni Sadhu - Let us not be misguided Dear Michael , these so called 'contradictory' talks are something that I actually don't wish to let them come in my life ; Thinking why I let myself engaged in this dialog , is that I fail to see any connection between these so called 'organization and business' and Jesus or Budha or others alike. 'Organization and business' belong to the physical world and in many cases - not in all - human greed is there strongly connected to this. What is called Christ Consciousness or Buddha within or kingdom of God within or Brahman or Self has nothing to do with organizations and business. We are all here together gathered by our Self , with love for truth in our hearts which again I fail to see that has any connection with organizations and business. In truth there are no organizations and business, vicki. /join All paths go somewhere. No path goes nowhere.
