Dear Jan,

thanks for the smile this brought on. For one like myself who loves

mountains, dogs, numbers, and poetry, this post was a perfect

combination. :-)

Heard about heavy rains, floods, and mudslides in your area. Hope you were not affected.

With a friendly woof, woof,

Michael

Dear Michael,

The floods have been severe and in Santa Cruz, seven people died because of it.

Where I am living it still is rural so the effect of a flood is far less severe.

This dog, a malinut, choose me as its "owner" so I decided to give it a try and

as she has a good sense of humor too, she may stay! Needless to say, the 'default'

advice given on 'malinut' sites is not to take a malinut as the first dog ;-)

One of first things she has been made aware of, was the conditioning to drop whatever,

in order to run after a thrown away stone or a ball...

Today I was at what was left of the snow and on 2 feet it was very slippery!

So I took a pic of the rascal having a lot of fun because of that...

Enjoy,

Jan

Hi,

I'm a new member in this group, in fact only since 2 days. But within

those two days I got already two photos of a dog in which I'm

definitely not interested. Moreover it takes more time to get it onto

my computer. When I entered this group I thought of something

different. Could you please inform me if this will go on with those

photos of dogs, each day a new one. In this case I'll leave this

group immeditately.

Namaste,

Barbara

Hi Barbara

Perhaps you are more interested in learning how to overcome your like and dislike?

Because one isn't without the other and a coin has always two sides.

The coin itself could labeled "conditioning" which is what prevents to see "who you are".

For a Sufi, dogs symbolize faith, unconditional love, surrender, in a way, few humans do.

A dog will take you "as you are", dressed or undressed, whether with a smell of garlic

or with the smell of burning tobacco. Does that ring a bell?

Best regards,

Jan

Hi Barbara:

As tempting as it is to ignore the dog pics there is always a very

strong subtext to them all. They come from the Canary Islands and

are an insight to the daily activities of a very unusual individual

that it is a great pleasure and privilege to know. Of all the

reasons to stay on the this list this one is the top one on my list.

Welcome

Bobby G.

Dear Barbara -

it's just a fluke that you came onboard and the pictures

of Jan's dogs were there. But if you knew them you would love them too,

however it's no cause to be persnickity. Patience is the greatest of virtues.

Hold on and - this too will pass!

good luck,

valerie
