When you were doing heavy pranayama, were you essentially a fruitarian/vegan then or did you include dairy, eggs, or grain. For some reason Hatha yoga texts emphasize ghee and milk after pranayama. I used to make a point of taking that stuff but don’t anymore. At the time when pranayama spontaneously came to my awareness, I hardly was eating at all, a few crackers made out of whole wheat with tomatoes was all. Body weight was very low and at times, caring ppl offered food... The only issue regarding K. is to optimize life-energy and in my case, that happened spontaneously. Pranayama has to be seen that way: another tool to optimize (and direct) life-energy. Eventually there comes a moment that it doesn't make a difference anymore. Do you believe in or have you ever done any strength training (pushups etc.) or do you consider it to not relevant to your mode of life. No, i haven't done push ups and the result has been a weakening of the arm muscles. Thanks to the dog i have been throwing a lot of stones, did that with both hands and the effect already was noticeable after a week. Man is designed to use the legs a lot and that indicates how to keep fit... Pranayama was practiced while walking, in a rhythmical way. The added advantage, when exercising, the body issues clear signals regarding the need for oxygen so it is impossible to do harm by "wrong" practice like too long retentions of breath. Do you take any supplements? Why or why not? Once the body is healthy as described in various texts on natural hygiene, it is remarkably efficient and needs far less than RDA recommendations indicate. Hence, no supplements are required and it's not a matter of "if" but "when" an unwelcome side-effect of supplements is discovered. Vitamin A the classical example, a Belgian scientist now claims to have found proof, DEA shouldn't be used... Thanks and any other tips on raw foods are appreciated. I have been thinking of adding avocados, but they have a lot of fat and I am still in the weight reduction mode. Yes, they contain fat and few avocados are needed, maybe 1 or two a week, like in a salad... The best way to reduce weight is to change lifestyle, walk and run more. A practice of running has the advantage that the want for snacks will be far less then without that practice. Not to mention that running has been proved to be an effective therapy in several cases of depression.
