I have noted in my work, that clients who are overly focussed on or worried about traps and entrapment, have invariably themselves been 'trapped', 'had' or 'duped' very early in their own life. Under some kind of spell, always enforced by fear for reprisal, condemnation, punishment or curse, a set of attitudes to prevent liberation out of entrapment gets engrammatically grafted into the victim by a victimizer. Invariably at some point later in the victim's life, when possibilities for freedom present themselves, but still under the power of the original entrapment spell, (which, by the way, comes with a set of accusing and judgmental sentences) the victim transfers the characteristics of the original entrapper onto a prospective liberator and then sees such a liberator as a danger to their own state of dependency, which is of course denied or not recognized. The strategy by the the original victimizer to remotely and in the future control the victim, also obfuscates the original memory of the incident of entrapment in the victim. This ploy of obfuscation is accompanied by an arsenal of offensive and defensive sentences, engraved, so to say, into the victims mind, sentences that include commands to 'forget' and 'deny'. All this to ensure that the victim stays under that fearful spell that the original entrapper has set in motion to ensure the hold on the victim in the future... even when the victimizer is absent. Whilst the victim appears to be a concerned fellow human being, who warns others about entrapment, he or she is still under the original spell... Unconditional love of the 'liberator', eventually wins out though...eventually enabling the trapped victim to reclaim his or her original and innate freedom. Guest guest
Hi Wim! Is the Doctor in? Well put, my man...engrammatically grafted....I hate it when that happens!*lol* While being helped along the path by a fellow traveller who has "arrived" (speaking in relative terms here), he suggested investigating the enneagram,so..... off to my local "Borders" went I, wanting to really get down to this I, the messed up one or the enlightened one, whichever. Hungry, I picked one of the many from the shelf and finding my number which had pretty much already been arrived at by my friend, began purusing the material.Well.... MY NUMBER is right! Within a matter of ten minutes reading about "my technique" I felt completely naked in that store! It was very liberating in a relative and not absolute way, but profound nevertheless.... There I was in B & W!!! I can definitely see how effective this is, as the one to be dropped, the ego or whatever you want to call it, cannot be the dropper! So it becomes a process of seeing the truth about yourself and even these written words can help in the great process. Valerie's term "survival mode" comes to mind. We are all crazy, it seems to be a matter of degree! I am also feeling the need to say something about about a particular "spiritual disposition" in which all "mystical experiences are shunned as "not it." While I see and agree of course, that becomes an excuse for non-progress. While nothing in particular can be said to be effective as steps toward this radical ALREADYNESS, that is not to say that ALL of the aspirant's preperations do not HELP to make the "event" come about. I am reminded of da Free John's talk at one time to his followers. After seeing this self-righteous attitude in them, told them bluntly that if they had in fact been practicing the WAY and for YEARS, why weren't they having mystical experiences? He suggested that perhaps they SHOULD be and if not, could they perhaps be wanting in their understanding of the Way. I find it humorous and not unlike holding a sandal over your head. Whatever works!
