a watercolor circa 1995

the book in the front is the I Ching -

funny how some art is alchemy, and

this one kicked me right back onto

the spiritual path from a

co-dependant relationship.

Hi Valerie...

Nice painting, thanks for sharing it. It kicked you right back cause

they are glads(?) (such a happy flower that always makes me smile too)

hmmm...i wonder if you could be right the subliminal implication of the

name of the flower working with other influences to set the soul free from

the imaginary shackles that comes with co-dependancy. I mean - we as humans

ARE that sensitive and I wouldn't doubt it.

the smallest things we take for granted are inspired by spirit - i

bet nobody here'd be surprised, but especially with art - when the creative

juices get flowing within a composition, it is just like a majestic prayer,

leaving nothing to chance, no matter how random it feels at the time!

Amen! Do you suppose the way in which we relate

to others can work like that too?

Hi David,

IMnsHO, it's all just a matter of taste. As we can see,

this war we're waging is a "holy war" to the Islamics, with all these suicide

missions making them martyrs for Allah, while many of us would beg to differ,

as they are slaughtering hundreds of innocent people along with them.

And we know how artists who lived so close to the edge

for God like Van Gogh - who was an actual priest or was it a monk at one

time - ends up in the funny farm and only sells one painting during his

lifetime of poverty.

So - actual prayers to God they might be - the paintings,

the poems, the inspired words - but if the other people don't *git it*

- it might remain just betwixt the artist and God! Making it excellent

for mental health and spiritual life for an individual, mind you - but

fame and fortune may be elusive if one's inspirations are solitary. Fact

is - in some cases they might lock people up shriekin' "But God told me

to do it! (say it, paint it, sing it whatever)!!"

LOL -

Tha's why - we gotta be pure at heart an fast on our feet,

imho...

:-)

oh yeah! and stay as amused as possible! :))
