I don't think I've seen that ginger flower before. Is that what they make those magnificent smelling lei's out of? ================================= Dear xxxtg, I can't believe your parents named you that....must of been about the 4th child and they were tired...? ;-@ These gingers grow on the more damp jungly side of the island, as do I. The torch ginger has leaves that are about 40 feet tall and the flower averages about 5feet. When they die, they look burnt and black. They have no smell if you're lucky. The lay that smell good are plumeria,....there's also white ginger which smell wonderful but I don't think anyone makes lays from them. I live on the windward side of the Big Island. ================================== I've enjoyed having you here on HS - welcome... I like your posts and your posting style. (must be another hawaiian style LOL). =================== Thank you and aloha, Shawn ======================
