Now to this brave knight's great dismay soon he himself became the prey. Every time the sharp sword blows the grinning demon stronger grows. An inexperienced surrender. Like an offer frail and tender towards the feet of nameless falling help and mercy he was calling. His body turned to earth and clay. Drying too fast this sunny day, cracking like a breaking jar. Protection gone, he won't get far. But falling bits of clay revealed. Himself, a golden form unsealed, appearing under fractured skin. Motionless and calm within. When humble demons disappeared the plot was gone and stage cleared. No question did I have to ask, even if it happened quick as if done by a smart trick, since I am the writer of this play about the cracking mask. Alan A week ago I had these lines I thought it was no good the story was untold I turned them into gold with too few words I guessed nobody understood. - mazie_l Tuesday, June 11, 2002 11:31 AM Once Dear Friends, i read a story on a Hallmark card, and how fitting to be called "Hallmark," for it is so. This is what it says: Once, a group of Siamese monks covered their precious golden Buddha with an outer covering of clay to keep their treasure from being looted. The golden figure lay hidden for centuries. We are all like the clay Buddha covered with a shell of hardness created out of fear, and yet underneath is a "golden essence," our real self. Sometime along the way we began to cover up our natural self. Our task now is to discover our true essence once again. Jack Canfield (adapted) "You've always had a Heart of Gold."
