In Norway aware is 'bevisst'.

visst = known

'bevisst' is used for concious and aware.

vet = know

in Swedish veta

Shawn (your emoticon noted) you asked:

>>> What is "aware?" ~(:-o <<<

In Dutch that is so easy to figure out.

We say 'gewaar' and in Dutch 'waar' means 'true', connoting

experiential evidence as provided by the five senses. Evidence in

which any kind of 'second guessing' is fully absent.

"Ah, evidamant!" the French would say to this.

"Makes sense!" they would say in Missouri, after you've shown them...

(Note: Missouri is the "Show me" state.)

"Das ist ja doch so" Germans would say.

And where most English speaking people would probably shrug their

shoulders and say, "I don't know..." some would say, "Ain't that the

truth?!"

All paths go

somewhere. No path goes nowhere. Paths, places, sights, perceptions,

and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back

into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than

the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of

Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It

is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the

Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of

Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self.

We have a similar word in Dutch: "bewust"

"Ik was me daar even niet van bewust, maar nu dat je me daarvan gewaar gemaakt hebt..."

:-)))
