Guest guest
Hi Wim, You sound like a kindred spirit and have gone many of the places I have in development. Clarifying our semantic differences shows different views of the same thngs mostly. Only one minor quibble. The UNBORN is a specific Zen term specially used by Bankei to indicate a state in which there is no birth or death. It is hard to mix terms to make them fit. However I don't disagree with your statement about as you clarified (it just didn't fit the Zen usage). You have certainly gone deeply into the whole issue of childhood conditioning and many of your insights represent somewhat new territory to me but I followed it and there is much to develop from your analysis. Speaking of analyze, I didn't know the derivation of the word. Thank you. That was interesting. My background is more computer and systems analysis so my work with perception is from a more systems analysis point of view. And I have been conditioned by Occam's Razor to look for the simplist explanation which will deal with an issue. Your mother seems like a very wonderful and stimulating person. You have benefitted by having both sides, left and right brain well- developed, intuitive and romantic as well as analytical and scientific, compassion and wisdom. It is good to meet you. May we swim with the dolphins one day. John L.
Guest guest
Thanks John, > Clarifying our semantic differences shows different views of the > same thngs mostly. Of course in origin we are all the same, like every pine cone is the same... The same potential... it is just us seeds falling in different locales that make us looks different, behave different, windblown, short, long or thick stemmed, short or long needled, broad leaved, spined or velvety. Disagreements do not come from us really, they come from growing up in different environments, not being able to see where we are coming from. That obfuscates what is growing really... May we be able to use all our senses again, and look around the corners of each other's seeming reality and meet the I in us... recognition... > Only one minor quibble. The UNBORN is a specific Zen term > specially used by Bankei to indicate a state in which there is > no birth or death. I realized that... but still you set me to writing what I did...and I thank you for that. > You have certainly gone deeply into the whole issue of > childhood conditioning and many of your insights represent > somewhat new territory to me but I followed it and there > is much to develop from your analysis. I knew that you would like my understanding of "analysis" Us humans, have come to understand many of our characteristics as a burden rather than a boon. Look what many of us now think about "mind", and "sense" and "experience", being "bodied". Words, now enveloped in suspicion... > My background is more computer and systems analysis > so my work with perception is from a more systems analysis > point of view. I used to be a RDBMS specialist, teaching wise. Not too long ago a Project Management software consultant, technical writer and instructor, most recently all that on line while I travelling as a itinerant counsellor. > Your mother seems like a very wonderful and stimulating person. She died last year, a very happy occurrence, she was 86. She had figured it out... In the last years of her life, at the end of every day, she used to hold us by the face and say, happily satisfied, full of grace and gratitude, "It was a good day, a very good day. Now we can have a good night's sleep." "Nu kunnen we lekker slapen." She died with that expression on her face.... My youngest brother who cared for her in Holland, held her head in his hands.. and I here in Canada knew that it happened... it woke me up from my sleep... > have benefitted by having both sides, left and right brain well- > developed, intuitive and romantic as well as analytical and > scientific, compassion and wisdom. In the end, both my parents had it figured out. > It is good to meet you. May we swim with the dolphins one day. We are swimming in cyberland... thanks John...
