Guest guest
SahajMan, I'm looking for a long time for a Oriental (Vietnam or Philippine) version of an upcoming Buddhist inititation I received in a private home in LA in the eighties and lost touch with the group. They were strict vegetarian (no strong spices either) I received 5 secret names including the name of the upcoming Buddha not the same sound as others more like: "mi-da" was reminded to Buddha "in the eye of the hurricane" and was instructed to hold my hand in a way so it resembled infinity. Before meditation the prayer included t reached down to touch and bless the earth several times. I thank you for your time in advance if you can help me with finding out the name of this organization or line and let me know. at: mi_nok ~ thnaks Karta ~ , Sahaj Man <sahajman> wrote: > Dear Devotees: > > I have temporarily accepted a position on level 111 to > teach a 6 month courst to the Buddhas and the Siddhas > who will be coming down to various lower planes to > teach over the next 100,000 years. > > I leave now as heavenly maidens eagerly await to > support me in my spiritual tasks and look after my > needs and earn good merits (punya) while I pass on the > truth of primal non-centrality to the next generation > of gurus. > > I really don't have many needs, being a breatharian > and all, but for the satisfaction of my devotees and > out of compassion, I go to enjoy good foods and other > things. > > My absence is my presence. Guest guest
Hi, Could that be the Ching Hai Organization? Ching Hai is Vietnamese and follows the Radha Soami Satsang teachings, but she started in Buddhism and has modified the teaching somewhat. Guest guest
thank you John, good guess, I went to see Her In Washington DC in 09 ad got initiated. Quan Yin is exactly like Sant Mat not Buddhist, only similarity is they also give 5 names at initiation. Now, that I think of "Vietnamese" I'm sure what I'm searching for is not that, but a small Oriental group in the early eighties in LA maybe Philippine version of an inititation to the upcoming Buddha. I'm sorry now that I lost touch with the group. They were strict vegetarian (no strong spices either) I received 5 secret names including the name of the upcoming Buddha not the same as others (Amida) more like: "mi-da" --if anyone can help me with finding out the name of this path, or line of Buddhism please let me know. ~thanks k~ , "johnrloganis" <johnrloganis> wrote: > Hi, > Could that be the Ching Hai Organization? Guest guest
Sorry, I didn't write it very well. She was in Buddhism for quite a while until she met her "Master" in Sant Mat. She does still carry over some Buddhist ideas such as a modified form of the Lay Precepts. I don't know about the other group -- unless they are some off-shoot of Shingon Buddhism which is quite esoteric. They may also be an off- shoot of Sant Mat from your description, going off on their own. It may also be a Pacific rim version of one of the Chinese Pure Land groups who have an esoteric emphasis, such as T'ien T'ai. New Topic: By the way did you know that the Eckankar Movement started by Paul Twitchell was based heavily on the Sant Mat teachings? Much of his material is copied verbatim from their writings, especially from the book by John James. Except he did his own mantra "Hu" as a basis and didn't do the "secret names". Actually I like Poonja's "Be quiet" method. It covers it all. If one needs power, power comes. If one doesn't need something it just quietly passes away. Krisnamurti gave me the correct concept to make it work properly. He advises to distinguish the fact from ideas about the facts. So it amounts to Challenge appears. Be quiet until the fact and the idea can be distinguished. Deal with the fact. The Challenge disappears or clarifies. I had a major conflict this morning in fact. I started to contend with the person and watched the situation escalate -- so I just stopped and became quiet, not responding. The conflict de-escalated and the other person finally withdrew. I was very agitated by the situation, but I kept the quiet until I was calm and could see what my next step was, and then I quietly executed the next step by contacting other people involved. They agreed to take further calm steps -- and the situation is on the way to solution. And I am calm. That would not have been possible in the past. Well enough ramble. I hope you find what you are looking for. Nameste, John L. , "satkartar5" <mi_nok> wrote: > thank you John, good guess, I went to > see Her In Washington DC in 09 ad got > initiated. Guest guest
tank you John, I'll look into the Poonja I was just reminded to the vipassana. Great is the the cyber-spirit. I think I'm under Ching Hai's grace again. we were meditating in India in 87 as Hui she was a 24 hour meditatior and She used to tell me about her intense, rigoruos Buddhist meditations with no sleep etc., now I'm reminded how important the 8 precepts are. I met Darvin (Eck Mahanta) by in the eighties in San Francisco and he gave me great boost on the spiritual quest, I wasn't initiated to Sant Mat back than, but I learned later of the samness of these path. I'm still looking for the name of my Buddhist intiation I received in the eighties to the upcomming Buddha with 5 names and to hold my hand folded during meditation and the eye of t= he hurrican was mentoned. (I can't mention the 5 secret names the last is mi-da.) This was at a family's private home and I lost touch with them. does anyone knows off such line of Buddhism? ~k~ VIPASSANA (mindfulness) I. First ask yourself: "Why do I wish to meditate ? "What do I wish to gain by it ?" "What is my aim as regards my Life and my Developmewnt ?" II. Observe the eight precepts (during retreat¿): 1. refrain from killing living creatures 2. taking what is not given 3. unchaste conduct. 4. false speech. 5. avoid intoxicants 6. eating outside the time. 7. no entertainments, beautifying 8. simple sleeping-place. , "johnrloganis" <johnrloganis> wrote: > Sorry, I didn't write it very well.
