Guest guest
This is a magnificent poem, Maizie ! I'm just about intelligent enough to realize that the bit about the 'Enter' key doesn't form part of it ! That should enable other members of this list to feel perfectly comfortable about dealing with me. I don't often post you concerning your poetry output, which is prodigious; but I *do* attempt to read as much of it as I can. I know that poetry slips through one's fingers the moment one attempts to analyze it; but I'll go so far with this one as to say that it has a very satisfying unity. (As a school-kid, I had the dreaded job of engaging in the 'appreciation' of French poetry under the head of 'analyse du texte', which spoiledthings quite a bit ). Much love ! John................Silent Companion....... ---- A Tethered Falcon My heart sits on the Arm of God Like a tethered falcon Suddenly unhooded. I am now blessedly crazed Because my Master's Astounding Effulgence Is in constant view. My piercing eyes, Which have searched every world For Tenderness and Love, Now lock on the Royal Target - The Wild Holy One Whose Beauty Illuminates Existence My soul endures a magnificent longing. I am a tethered falcon With great wings and sharp talons poised, Every sinew taut, like a Sacred Bow Quivering at the edge of my Self And Eternal Freedom, Though still in check By a miraculous Divine Golden Cord. Beloved, I am waiting for You to free me Into Your Mind And Infinite Being. I am pleading in absolute helplessness To hear, finally, Your Words of Grace: Fly! Fly unto Me! No path goes nowhere. Paths, places, sights, perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self. Guest guest
A Tethered Falcon My heart sits on the Arm of God Like a tethered falcon Suddenly unhooded. I am now blessedly crazed Because my Master's Astounding Effulgence Dango-dango! There is that Astounding Effulgence, again! How can one grasp a concept so vast with such small grippers and such slippery slippers? That an effulgence can be astounding is astounding in itself... Not to say that it could not be, it could, it could... Just as a grand canyon could be really big, Or that a universe could be vast... Or that God, should he/she/us/it have a nose, It would be a very big nose... Or that eternity might seem a long while... And infinity describes quite a bit... Einstein said it best: "It must be simple enough-- But not too simple" I am filled with simple effulgence And a pattering rythem Of angels feet Dancing on the pin heads of my brain....
