The oak grove

adjacent to the vineyard,

late afternoon slant of sunlight,

soft fragrant breeze, bird song,

i on the little bench, You

exploring the rocks and mosses --

 

later, strolling back to the car

along the path between the

budding grapes --

 

Your arm on my shoulder,

my hand in the back pocket of

Your jeans.

These standing trees

where i surrendered to You

might stand in silence

for a very, very long time.

They will hold their silence

of what they've seen today.

These trees might be here

long after we have left this earth.

 

But this Love will last forever.

Neither needing bodies to survive,

neither needing minds, we arrive

at the same time in the same Heart,

and This Heart of Love we Are, never dies.

It never ends.

It will never end, This Love.

 

Strolling along in the vineyard,

not singing,

but being the song,

we know we belong to the Beloved.

We belong to the Beloved,

the Most Beautiful Beloved One.

With one thought ringing through us,

the bell of Remembrance is rung.

We remember Who we Are.

 

Glancing up at You,

and You so sweetly smiling,

looking so Kind and so very Gentle,

the fading sunlight fades away,

and i see not Your face,

but i see the Face,

the Beautiful Face of the Beloved.

And in this Moment of Forever Knowing,

that i am You and You are me,

i finally understand completely,

that This Love We Are

Is the thing we know as Grace.
