We would play in the corn fields on hot summers days and swing from oak trees like crazy laughing birds or hang upside down from the branches like wringling bats. One day, a knowing look filled our eyes like warm glows from a future season. We went down to the river bank to where the long grass was green and sweet and where the willow and ash trees stood sentinel like guardian angels. She said shyly: I will show you mine if you will show me yours.... So not knowing of this secret she had, I said: Okay why not? After this silent revealing we ran home together not speaking. As we parted she said: This is our secret. No one else must know about this... But I knew that God had just told me the secret of the world. My heart was dazed and has been stunned ever since.
