Guest guest
Love on the Prayer Mat. To fall in love is to lose ourselves on the prayer mat. It is sad but true that all our beautiful tears to God are really disingenuous poems written for the hearts attention. We all start out like this. Begging at an open door. Or hoping to be a fair ground attraction. Meanwhile, the prayer mat keeps getting more crowded with the lamentations of fat crocodiles the love sick braying of donkeys the chattering of monkeys and the call of wild geese chasing their tail. Its a zoo in there! One day, a pregnant swan from an other country comes to visit your magic carpet and raises a delicate eyebrow. Yes, swans also have eyebrows though you can only see them by the light of a full moon in an empty pail of water, when your world falls through it. You stop what your doing and open your mouth to speak but you know this is no time for conversation. This is a nesting ritual. What the swan asks you is - Can your holy menagerie please keep the noise down? Better still, can you send them someplace else, so that something lovely can get born here? So you start herding all those complaining creatures off your prayer mat, and when peace is restored and there is only you and the swan left you proclaim yourself ready. She turns a quizzical eye upon you as if pointing to the same door from which the animals have just left, and says: You to! love eric _____________________
