7/18/02 "Wow"

 

I realized it was 3:40pm and I had forgotten to feed myself since

breakfast. I could see way too much of the walls on the inside of

the fridge when I opened it, so I grabbed a couple of bills from the

drawer, piled Ananda and Bodhi into the truck and we made off for the

corner store. When we went to pay for our groceries, we were a couple

of bucks shy and we returned to the truck to see if we could scrounge

it up. No luck.

 

Back at the cash register I saw that the only item we didn't actually

need right then was also the one that Ananda had chosen for herself:

some juice that I'd told her the other day we could get for her the

next time we went to the store. I said, "Honey, we don't have enough

money. We're going to have to put this back."

 

You know what she said? She said, "Okay."

 

That's it! "Okay," like a little bird cheeping. Nothing to it!

 

I stood there, really just beside myself, as she good-naturedly

reached up, grabbed her bottle of juice and trotted down the aisle to

return it to the shelf. I was so moved, I even had the beginnings of

tears in my eyes. I told her I loved her "like crazy" and that when

we got home I'd give her a surprise. When we arrived I said, "Close

your eyes!" Then I ran and got her a little treat I had hidden and

was saving for just the right moment.

 

Incidentally, a couple of hours later when Jim came home, he walked in

carrying a bottle of juice for Ananda. (God, I love that man!!!)

Is this just another "coincidence" or do we really live in a

telepathic universe (in the Source)?
