Guest guest
I've gained from love such sorrow, that, don't ask: Separation's poison had to swallow, that, don't ask. I have wandered in the world and out of all of this, I've so perfect a Beloved to follow, that, don't ask. >From deep longing for the dust of Your doorstep, I have such eyes letting tears flow, that, don't ask. During the night, with both ears, from Your mouth I heard words so sweet and mellow, that, don't ask. Why do you bite lip at me and say: "Don't speak;" I've bitten ruby lip that's so aglow, that, don't ask. In the poor small room of my beggary, without You I have suffered such great sorrow, that, don't ask. Like the stranger Hafiz, in the long pathway of love I've come to a new stage somehow, that, don't ask. Guest guest
Dearest Eric, You have completely emboldened me to stretch as a poet and most likely snap in being compelled to attempt what you are doing with the Rumi transliterations. i suddenly got the wild idea to attempt such as that with my Beloved Hafiz. Call me flipping crazy. But you must hold responsibility for this somehow with all this really inspirational-to-a-writer kind of things you've been doing with Rumi. Go figure Dearest. So, here is the attempt to do Hafiz from this one. > I've gained from love such sorrow, that, don't ask: Separation's poison I had to swallow, that, don't ask. ....Despair informed my Heart of You - of that Love, i cannot speak. Longing for reUnion, i lived on bitter herbs of angst - of that Love, i cannot speak. > I have wandered in the world and out of all of this, I've so perfect a Beloved to follow, that, don't ask. ....Lost in my search i became bewildered, yet so unconcerned for anything this world offers, you see, my Beloved is the Perfection of Grace - of that Love, i cannot speak. > From deep longing for the dust of Your doorstep, I have such eyes letting tears flow, that, don't ask. Yearning with fire's intensity to burn white-hot, to happily become nothing but sacred ash for one glance from You, i called to You from my Sea of Tears, for just one moment alone with You - of that Love, i cannot speak. > During the night, with both ears, from Your mouth I heard words so sweet and mellow, that, don't ask. ....All night long, with Soul Listening, from Your Soul's Beautiful Mouth, i heard a conversation so sublime, so serene - of that Love, i cannot speak. > Why do you bite Your lip at me and say: "Don't speak;" I've bitten a ruby lip that's so aglow, that, don't ask. ....i wonder why You smile like that, with those lips so Dear, so Tender, and You tell me, "Don't say a word." i have pressed my mouth against lips so glowing with a light so full, so bright, so Life-giving - of that Love, i cannot speak. > In the poor small room of my beggary, without You I have suffered such great sorrow, that, don't ask. ....Sitting inside my Self, a beggar for Your Love, waiting forever for You to come back to me, i endured a sorrow so immense, so intense - of that Love, i cannot speak. > Like the stranger Hafiz, in the long pathway of love I've come to a new stage somehow, that, don't ask. ....Following the ways of the strange one, Mazie, a being so foreign to herself without You, in the vast, undulating and endless vistas before these eyes of Love looking, i have spied a new horizon, somehow i See Now, so clearly - of that Love, i cannot speak. > Paul Smith - 'Hafiz, Tongue of the Hidden' ~ Mazie Lane - 'Wild Wanderer: the Night-Creature' LoveAlways, Mazie
