Guest guest
Night Songs We wake up smiling. All night long love has been whispering in our hearts, with a gold tongued longing that has been unwinding a green thread of bliss like a river running through the valleys of our bodies. I can feel you stir in my movements. The rise and fall of your breasts are waves beneath the shoulders of my dreams. Dreams that walk within your house like intimate guests taking their ease upon your favorite chair, admiring the beautiful self-portraits you made before life swept you into perpetual motion. Coming to your bedroom to lay forget-me-nots upon your pillow. And here, league upon league of lives away I am closer to you now than ever we were when our skin burned to be turned into one blood. Does the light rest in sultry languor upon your window sill this morning my darling? It is my soul at last unmasked of this pretense that we could ever be anything but light feinting into a union that has been arriving like dawn from the birth of this worlds love affair with time. I am the call of your past made whole by this present devotion. A lover you prayed to on the threshold of existence to gather you to the harvest of this season. And do you now turn upon your pillow seeking the window where your life went into mine? Yours hands are held out now like song birds embracing my sleep with the melodies of a tune we wrote for all lovers when the One became our music. Your eyes are an ocean of remembrance that I fall into like summer rain. Together we wake up smiling with the singing of children returning home to the arms of joy. love eric __________________
