"A puzzled monk once said to Fuketsu:

"You say truth can be expressed without speaking,

and without keeping silent.

How can this be?"

Fuketsu answered:

"In Southern China in the Spring,

when I was only a lad, ah!

how birds sang among the blossoms!"

~~~~~~
The birds have vanished
into the sky,
and now the last cloud
drains away.
We sit together,
the mountain and me,
until only the mountain remains.
The sky has vanished.
Birds were never born.
Birth and death - naught!
Not a "we"
and not a "me"
to sit anywhere ever.
Mountain?
What is that?
Ah! What never was,
surely cannot "remain"
to make this poem,
to make a name
for the illustrious -
Li Po!
Beloved, there is a sound
of many monks making music,
Gayatri mantra,
or something about a diamond,
and Beloved, diamonds are made
in mountains, it seems!
So say something back,
about mountains maybe remaining,
remaining in some place that never was.
Let's make it "Ever-Was,"
and even then,
You never know,
even when You think You know -
You never know, eh?
i Love You,
if that works for you.
Zappa immortalized a mountain,
he called it "Billy the Mountain!"
Billy, Bob, or even "I Am A" will do.
Mountains like Arunachala
are some kind of Sacred Spanish Fly,
and Sri Ramana sure sends me soaring
like a big-eyed house fly into the Sky
of Oblivion, and Baby,
there was no obliviousness in You!
Obviousness is obviously
sometimes to someone's advantage.
Obviously i seem to Love You like Ramana
Loved Arunachala, Tiruvannamali,
or some such spelling similar to that!
i am at last,
(with something MUST having had being first) -
Outta here, Baby!
)))) Before anyone ever came
or went, a kind of dancing
idea appeared in the mind of God,
accompanied by a subtle tune
God could not quite shake off.
He took the tune as cue, composing
a symphony of rocking visibility
we call mountains, dancing
out of the invisible,
the mind of God, as
Li Po, You, i & Ramana's
Sacred Spanish Fly, flung
across the empty sky of
vanishing birds we once
imagined as ourselves
above Tirumvanamali.
Rumi said:
"The mountains give
forth mines of gold and silver.
All these things ...the mountains do,
yet they do not perform that one thing;
that particular task is performed by us."
Zappa sang:
"Help! I'm a rock!"
Just rock me, Baby,
like my back ain't got no bone;
just roll me,
Baby, and i'll never roam too
far from home!
Just kiss me, Baby,
until we start to moan;
just do me like You do me,
Baby,and i'll leave those
stones alone!
Ah, that Tune --
and why did i ever tell you
i didn't like rock & roll?
LoveAlways,
