Guest guest
Among many long creeks and high summits there lives a happy hermit of a man. In daylight he wanders in the mountain, at night sleeps in any cave with no need of permit. Let all the springs and summers pass themselves, serene and quiet he has no self to fit. What a great pleasure – Freedom! Suchness is sometimes just sitting in an autumn stream. On Tien-Tai Mountain I make my home, clouds and fog keep tourists away. I feel my whole lifetime is a magic filled with the bliss of my lonely picnic! Tzon Tze said: "The good death you are having makes the earth and sky your coffin." Nothing is born before earth, It has no form, health or disease. It's the master of all things, following nothing, at rest in all. Climb up to the Cold Mountain -- the path to it has no end. In the long stream there are stones, on the two shores the grass is the same. Only white clouds clothe the hill, Silently. Hut was easy to build -- Light borrowed from moon-essence. Wild deer make an excellent audience! I enjoy my happiness, a man beyond existence! Birth and death -- like water and ice. Water becomes ice and ice becomes water. There is nothing otherwise.
