Mark Doty The old story, but how often really explored? Some archetypal stories have treasures usually overlooked by the conditioned interpretations of a self believed to be divided from its source. Adam & Eve, for example. Living together again, we can remember those early days in the garden, which at the time we thought to be the whole world, not different than who we were, a mysterious movement of being, forming itself out of itself to awaken to itself in the image of itself as you and i. Since we had no ideas about God other than what was directly experienced without intermediary, priest, scripture, no God but God, no Guru but God, only God expressed as the Garden of our present being, we reached to touch, moved as being moves, moving to exceed itself without moving, moving in the delight of itself moving further into the dream of itself made flesh as you and i. Just like today, i did an unusual thing that day – i imagined you were separate enough from me that i could love you. i know why you keep laughing, just as much as i know why i am here. The paradox cracks us up, just as it did then! We keep returning for the laughs, which our serious descendents call original sin, convinced by the imagination that they are other than this being, moving, moving within themselves, laughing, nearly fainting at this touch. After the flag dance, what else is there to say: the whole eternal legacy of inquiry to the point of pointlessness, the ecstasy there, here, now? how happy that flag, to finally be met completely in this divine mind communion with the breeze of our laughter, hilarity at the obviousness of our profound ignorance? this is anything other than Immortal Bliss? this Divine Ignorance? We are! We Are! The same one then, the same one now. If anyone can see this dance, the obviousnessness! Yes, you can say "ShivAllah!" ShivAllah!
