Guest guest
Dear Vicki: Thank you for your perserverance. You understand the heart and that is what is the most important. IMO there has been a devisiveness on this list for several weeks. There is a basic disagreement and two camps (IMO) exist here, one which says you are already there, and one which says keep applying effort. So far respect for the other has not been shown. If this list is for all beliefs then respect should be shown in response to the other even if you disagree. I have seen remarks about serious posts remarked on in an unAdvaitin (?) manner. (IMO) It was inevitable that someone speak and I applaud you even while I feel badly that you have had to spend so much time saying what ultimately had to be said. I will include a post below that I wrote a week ago and I did not want to post because I felt I did not want to defend against supercilious remarks or a shift in the frame of reference from the relative to the absolute. (Non-dual speak) ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Hi everyone: The following is a piece I wrote a few years ago loosely based on Patanjali III. 1-12. Consciousness: Types: One pointed-Restricted-Enstatic: There are three types of consciousness. One-pointed concentration gets work done, is healthy, and is evolutionary. Restricted consciousness is when nothing new is occurring. The third type is inner ecstasy or Enstasy, that is, pure objectless consciousness. Consciousness is truth, that which is real. After a task is completed, One-Pointed Consciousness either shifts to another use of one-pointedness or shifts to Restricted Consciousness for thoughts or actions that are habitual and where nothing new occurs. A sense of newness can be noticed in One- Pointed. The length of time in this consciousness is to be lengthened. Consciousness shifts seamlessly between these two types. The Supplying of the consciousness with the proper subliminal activators to promote evolution aids in the Constraint of Consciousness. The predicament of the seeker is that traits, drives, habits emanating from the subconscious because of heredity, environment, and hormonal keys make thoughts and ideas arise unbidden into consciousness. Constraining the consciousness is not possible by will alone. Promote purity and Friendliness. Adopting the best traits (yama-niyama) will counteract the negative. The presented ideas will then promote evolution. Consciousness can then be constrained by one of several methods, breath control, involution (Holding the "I" in the Mind), or surrender to God. Consciousness has three faces; intelligence, memory, and I amness. These three are like the movie we see on a screen and the consciousness is like the screen. The movie occupies the attention until it ends and there is the screen again. The contentless space between thoughts is pure consciousness. It is the untarnished gem the seeker longs to hold in his grasp. Because the Seeker is a participant in the movie projected upon the screen of Consciousness that is not possible. Love Bobby G. Our being already there shouldn't preclude us from making the effort. However, what that effort is and how it manifests may not always be covered in the scriptures.
