Guest guest
8/22/02 "Preparing for the Birth - Part 4" Lying on the grass looking up through the big branches of oaks to the sky, my hands wandered to my swollen middle as I felt a little someone slowly begin to stir from the inside. "Hi Baby," I said, smiling, as I followed a knee across with my fingertips. A wave of joy enveloped me as the image of holding this little one in my arms very soon came to my mind. This birthing process is only going to happen once with this child, I thought. Only once. Rather than regarding it as something to endure, to cope with, or to manage, why not see it as something to cherish? Surely, in all of its drama, it is going to come and it is also going to go. I wonder what it would be like to really make the most out of the experience, to appreciate it, to honor it somehow. What would it feel like to truly Be There for every moment of it: to meet it, to embrace it? I would really like to know.
