Guest guest
8/31/02 "True Love" I was propped up on my elbow, lying sideways on her bedroom floor amidst my four-year-old and all her toys when Ananda caught me zoning out and called, "Mommy, I want you to play with me!" I said, "You know, honey, I am having trouble paying attention because I am getting lots of thoughts. I think a story is starting to come out." "Oh!" she replied, "I will get you a piece of paper and a pen." Then she jumped up and ran off. I was so touched by this, it made me get up too. I retrieved the reddest strawberry I could find in the bowl and when we had both returned to her room I had her open her mouth and close her eyes and I dropped it in. Her face absolutely lit up as she chewed, moaning, "Ummmm." When she had made her final swallow she gave me the biggest hug ever and then played quietly beside me while I began to write. After I had filled up the page I was astonished to notice that at some point she had gone and gotten another blank sheet and laid it down next to me.
