The Power of Empathic Art

A call for submissions:

 

Life can be most meaningful and creative when the dynamic balance

between the finite self and the infinite self (infinite potential),

is realized. This balance is maintained by the power of empathy.

 

Our latent empathy comes into being with a letting go of all

judgements of the`other'. The experience of empathy is an emptying

of all biases and preconceived notions that rend people apart. In

its place is an empathic smile of one's entire being, resonating with

the others own latent empathy. Empathy can be a mutual experience

that radiates love.

 

Those of us who are aware of the widespread suffering in the world

can recognize the dire need for empathy in all human relationships.

The power of empathy opens for me several great possibilities, among

them the power of Empathic Art.

 

Empathy can be applied to art when any two beings are portrayed as

being in empathy with each other. The stillness of a painting

emphasizes that moment and with the added artistic rendering of the

ambience which `mutual' empathy radiates, a powerful image of

connectedness is created. It's like that moment in life or the

movies when the two long-separated characters see each other for the

first time in a long time. Remember that feeling? Wow!
