In fact, when you were here during the retreat at the Providence Zen Center, the Ammachi group was visiting. I pay to have lunch at the cafeteria when the group is here because the food prepared by the Ammachi devotees is pretty good. However, at night, I see people getting on their knees and in a big line for a chance to hug Ammachi. The lines are long and the hugging goes on well into the night. It is quite a scene to watch. Different people probably have a variety of perspectives on that sort of a thing. I have often wondered about who is being honored and would like to hear other views. Often, I think honor has different meanings to people. Can you see yourself in the Ammachi line Jerry? Have you been in a line like that with someone (Krihnamurti?) I remember once you visited that pranayama guy - forget his name, but he teaches happiness through breath or something like that. Did he have a line of his own? Just wondering about lines and honor today. What does it mean? Love to all Harsha ===== /join New DSL Internet Access from SBC & http://sbc. Love to all Harsha == Perhaps devotion most truly honors the devotee, like a butterfly lighting on a grace filled blossom, one awaits the other, to complete the cycle of existence. And if one should miss the other a gentle wind completes the mystery. ..

They are only on their knees when they get to be hugged. I found though, that the hugging begins as soon as Ammachi arrives. The whole room is filled with energy that hugs nourishingly. > > I have often wondered about who is being honored and > would like to hear other views. To conceptualise It as a person is a mistake, but also seems to be a stage towards transcending form of 'Guru'. I also think it is Amma honouring Self in others when she hugs. I think she is quite lovely. Colette
