Guest guest Posted September 19, 2002 Report Share Posted September 19, 2002 9/18/02 "Simple Pleasures" Today Jim took Ananda with him on a small job in town, leaving me alone for most of the day with the baby. It's hard to really do much with a newborn in one's arms, and that was just as well. I joyfully filled the afternoon doing a whole lot of, well, I don't actually know what I filled the afternoon with. I sure know what I didn't do (you should see the pile of dishes...) but I do remember that at one point, when Zachary was wide-eyed and alert, an idea came to me. Even though I hadn't even entered the master bathroom for one minute of my labor, I had made it look as beautiful as I could in preparation for the birth. Today I excitedly walked in and lit the new candles I had saved, closed the new curtains, and took the very first timeless and soothing soak with my new friend. It was divine.
