Guest guest Posted September 24, 2002 Report Share Posted September 24, 2002 9/24/02 "Keeping Close" Because of all of the extra hours being logged in after the stroke of midnight, lately I've been heading to bed before everyone else. Several nights ago when Zack was nestled comfortably on his daddy's chest and I had been asleep for a while, Ananda came into the dark bedroom, woke me gently and asked, "Mommy, will you hold me?" I told her that I would love to as I lifted the sheet and scooted over to make room for her. Every night since then, that has been our special time together. We don't talk much (if at all) but I scratch her back and stroke her hair, kiss her temple from time to time, until she is either fast asleep or has had enough. I don't know if it truly makes up for all of the not-now-maybe-laters she gets from me during the day, but I am certain that it helps. It sure helps me.
