Guest guest
Hi Michael, I had a similar experience with niacin, except I thought I was going to die -- and it was so painful I took a bath and that made it worse! It finally went away and I went to sleep exhausted from the discomfort. But when I woke up I was finally relaxed. And about the expectation which developed in the situation and how it was brought back to earth -- as one looks at what happened, What was learned from the experience? Penetrate deeply. It is a koan of sorts. Who had this experience? What arose? What continued? What passed away? What will happen the next time you take niacin? Don't answer that question. Just hold it and watch what happens the next time. The reaction is a kind of cleansing. So see what it brings. You had much courage to share this and this group loves you for your humanity and humility in sharing. We are all learning and your sharing helps us on our paths. No path goes nowhere. Paths, places, sights, perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self.
