Information about information. > > Could it be that what we call "I" is just an idea? This sounds like you may have an interest in Raja Yoga. I think that is exactly what I is. I on the other hand am real. The difference in the conjugation of the verb "to be" indicates the difference in the referent for "I". Is, are, was, were, be, am, been are all indicating being. What I call I is an Idea. The doing of it is not. By that I mean, discerning between the Self and not self is the act of being. > > > Could it be that an idea has an idea about another idea I don't think ideas can have ideas. In my structure of the mental world, tendencies create ideas with the five basic mental mechanisms: logic, memory, dreaming, intuition, and imagination. Tendencies, which are drives and habits occur on the sattvic level, in this sense, cycles. The entire structure of the mind is based on the sattvic tendency to repeat. Problems are tendencies which block other tendencies. But don't get me started. >>>............and if the idea of consensus is added.......a fact is born? Yes I see what you mean. I still have to call a fact a memory (Idea) if it is truly what happened or not. > > If the criteria for determining the veracity of a fact is experiential..........I'm in trouble. I think a good healthy doubt about ones ability to always discern what happens is good for growth...certainty about that little fact sort of cripples it. > > > ~~~~~~~~~ ]:<( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > > (That's the symbol for swamp rabbit) I like the ears.
