Adam was called in to name the Red-Winged Blackbirds, the Diamond

Rattlers, and the Ring-Tailed Raccoons washing God in the streams at

dawn. "

~Robert Bly

Even Adam smeared mud

on his face to appear raccoon-like.

He understood the black and white cows,

the geese with greasepaint and the humans

who consumed them.

Who is this man who calls on Kali,

comes running when Shiva rings the dinner bell?

Shiva and Kali pal around palming red paint

to mark the black-birds,

ripping striations from the Sky of Life

to mark the rattlers with rings

and pointing out the paradox

in black and white.

It's all black and white

until it isn't.

It's never black and white

until it is.

"My heart is a calm potato by day, and a weepingAbandoned woman by

night. Friend, tell me what to do,Since I am a man in love with the

setting stars. "

~Robert Bly

"Tell me the lonelinessOf this deserted mountain,The aged farmerDigging wild potatoes."

~Basho

i weep for the day when all men will weep for Love.

i Love the man who weeps for a single, white star streaking

across the night sky.

i Love that in our abandonment to Divine Mystery

we experience each moment as the Heart-Star

opening like a lotus in the ever-flowing Source -

Grace Incomprehensible.

In Gaelic, Grace speaks to the Heart like this -

"Imtheochaidh sor is soir.

Adtainig ariamh an ghealach is an ghrian." -

"Everything that is and was will cease to be."
