Guest guest
Beyond human knowledge and understanding…...in order to come to union with the wisdom of God, the soul has to proceed rather by unknowing than by knowing... ~St. John of the Cross Having endless rendezvous’ with death’s head, That rider on the storm of all desire, I propose that even the desire for union with God Is nothing but a trip that must cancel itself. For what end do we meet here tonight opening the seven seals on our forehead, But to meet the Jesus on the road To salvation And kill him? Why does death appear so gruesome? I opened the third seal and saw Spirit fly out With the secret of Death inscribed on Its Bosom. ~Mitzvah I have no secrets. ~Death If I were to profane this moment, if it were possible to sully the seven seals with my knowledge of Death’s Mysterious Countenance, I would be burnt in the fire of sighting Shiva Sleeping. Now would be the time for Death to strike me down with Life that cannot be fathomed nor taken by storming the doors of the mind. ~Mitzvah Even as vapours darken the air and allow not the bright sun to shine; or as a mirror that is clouded over cannot receive within itself a clear image; or as water defiled by mud reflects not the visage of one that looks therein; even so the soul that is clouded by the desires is darkened in the understanding and allows neither the sun of natural reason nor that of the supernatural Wisdom of God to shine upon it and illumine it clearly. ~St. John of the Cross Darkness shines with Light. In the water condensed into clouds and mists, There still, is the river flowing clear and strong. In understanding that this body is the Presence Presenting as flesh and blood, all desires, If seen for what they are – The arising of past association with experiences That caused the entity of Light to retract and recoil, To expand and extend, Death becomes a mirror of life Illuminating God’s Eternal Glory. I live and move and have my being In that infinite Love. ~Mitzvah Your life, O fool, hangs by a thread! Short is the day. ~Death Threading all the lives i’ve lived and died upon the whims of Shiva, stringing them upon the moment before me now, I realize I‘ve always been Immortal and Deathless. Even Death is played the fool By the one who’s already dead! Now, step into my casbah, Darling! I deal in the same trade as You do! ~Mitzvah "At the first step, be ready to offer your head as His seat." ~Mirabai But "I am nothing BUT a head, Set upon the ground as a gift for Shams," Said Mevlana. Somehow, this sounds like it might spell disaster. i cast the spell on myself. Only i can remove it. Grace wears the face of Death, Stripped down of anything personal. ~Mitzvah When thy mind dwells upon anything, thou art ceasing to cast thyself upon the All. This perfection consists in voiding and stripping and purifying the soul of every desire. In order to be free and void to that end, (the soul) must in no wise lay hold upon that which it receives, either spiritually or sensually, within itself... ~St. John of the Cross. In the world but not of the world… In the body but not burdened by the body… Working with the mind but not bound by the mind… ~Mitzvah You are reflected in your own indifference. ~the Squire You are indifferent to your own reflection. ~Mitzvah The void is a mirror. I see my face and feel loathing and horror. I live in a world of ghosts – A prisoner in my dream. ~Antonius Block God dwells and is present substantially in every soul, even in that of the greatest sinner in the world. And this kind of union is ever wrought between God and all the creatures, for in it He is preserving their being: if union of this kind were to fail them, they would at once become annihilated and would cease to be. And so, when we speak of union of the soul with God, we speak not of this substantial union which is continually being wrought, but of the union and transformation of the soul with God, which is not being wrought continually, but only when there is produced that likeness that comes from love; we shall therefore term this the union of likeness, even as that other union is called substantial or essential. The former is natural, the latter supernatural. And the latter comes to pass when the two wills -- namely that of the soul and that of God -- are conformed together in one, and there is naught in the one that repugnant to the other. And thus, when the soul rids itself totally of that which is repugnant to the Divine will and conforms not with it, it is transformed in God through love. In thus allowing God to work in it, the soul ... is at once illumined and transformed in God, and God communicates to it His supernatural Being, in such wise that it appears to be God Himself, and has all that God Himself has. And this union comes to pass when God grants the soul this supernatural favour, that all the things of God and the soul are one in participant transformation; and the soul seems to be God rather than a soul, and is indeed God by participation; although it is true that its natural being, though thus transformed, is as distinct from the Being of God as it was before... ~St. John of the Cross LoveEternal.
