Guest guest
11/09/02 "Close Call" Okay. That settles it. I didn't want to write about it until we took the measurements. Nearly two hundred feet. The other night, the first rains that we've had for eight months or so brought with them such mighty winds that a two hundred foot pine tree snapped and came crashing down. Everything shook. When we grabbed our flashlights, we found that the tree had come to rest with its very tip lying gently against the living room wall of our humble abode. *Whew!* Think I'm fooling? Check out these photos!! Guest guest
We had a similarly old and towering pine topple within a few feet of our bedroom two years ago -- it damaged nothing, not even the young maple directly in its path, which is growing happily through the now-bare branches of it's fallen neighbor. "*Whew*" indeed! On Sat, 9 Nov 2002 14:26:32 -0800 "Kheyala" <kheyala (AT) neteze (DOT) com> writes: 11/09/02 "Close Call" Okay. That settles it.
