Guest guest
We know the world through the mind. Sri Ramana used to say that mind is a wonderful power that arises from the Self and makes all this visible. The conscious mind is one manifestation of Kundalini Shakti. Ultimately, Mind, Kundalini, Shakti, Maya, all these mean the same thing. Jnana makes us aware that the rising of (Mind, Maya, Shakti)has a Source which is complete in It Self, the pure Sat-Chit-Ananda. It is because of the presence of Sat-Chit-Ananda at the core of our being, the whole world is starving for love, love or Ananda (joy or bliss) being the root nature. In one way or another, we seek this Ananda, either through material means or spiritual means which are also in a way not different than material means. I remember being at retreat about 23 years ago and talking to this woman in her 60s. She was divorced and actively looking for a man. I advised her to forget about finding love and all that nonsense and focus on meditation and Self-Realization and be free. I remember the pained look on her face and she said, "But I really need to have a man in my life." I was such a fool then. Love to all Harsha ===== /join Mail Plus – Powerful. Affordable. Guest guest
Thankfully, the ancient Indian scriptures contain a lot of truth. Where a parrot is found, at least it repeats the truth (even if it goes on changing names like Tony, etc). , "saktidasa" <saktidasa> wrote: > Namaste Harsha and all, > > Yes if the lady was ready for a sannyasin's life she wouldn't have > said what she did. And changing personalities (as in online personae, for example) - is that the truth? Or birthdays - which do we observe - the birthdate associated with physical birth? Spiritual birth? Some other private 'symbolic' birth/rebirth? Just asking.... http://www.yogamag.net/archives/1996/may96/A%20True%20Sannyasin.htm "A True Sannyasin" Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati Swamiji's reflections on sannyasa at his 26th sannyasa birthday celebration at Ganga Darshan, 11 January 1996. "It was only with great difficulty that I was able to convince everyone not to celebrate my physical birthday, because that is not the real one." <snip> > , "saktidasa" <saktidasa> wrote: > > Namaste Harsha and all, > > > > Yes if the lady was ready for a sannyasin's life she wouldn't have > > said what she did.
