Guest guest
What are we to think of activities that are reccommended by sages. For me it is enough to do the things I think right. Each activity that is right goes into the bin as an aspect of the total package of activity. Each one by itself is an incomplete picture of a personality. Together they form a picture of reality that does not exist except as a list of attributes. Even if i do everything recommended they are still only done one at a time. The problem is like the story of the blind men that feel the legs trunk and ears of the elephant thinking they can say what an elephant is by only a part. Only one recommended activity can be performed at a time. If conduct is the doorway to reality How can I exhibit all the right activities at once? How to do it all at once? Be mindful, practice, be vigilant, show gratitude..this cultivates the mind. Nothing else can be done. Nothing needs to be done. Is is. Thus practice of all and practice of nothing is recommended.
