Guest guest
Bhagavan: Find out who you are. Question: Is the appearance of the differentiated universe true or untrue? Bhagavan: It depends on how we regard the terms true and untrue. If we look at Brahman, there is no universe. Question: Then why does the universe appear? Bhagavan: Appear to whom? The universe does not say "I am." Is there any evidence to say that the universe appears? To whom does the universe appear? Question: To me. Bhagavan: Who are you? Find out who you are. Then afterwards tell me if there is a universe. ~Living by the Words of Bhagavan,David Godman. I am a dry small stick sent adrift on a nameless stream spun, soaked sunk below the surface tangled in weed, water lifting me, freely floating effortlessly, one with the current sifted through boulder, branch, rippling rapids filling canyon walls with deep pooling bliss, forgetful of any intended destination, just a simplicity of watery grace ~b Ascetics wander shrine to shine, looking for what can only come from visiting the soul. Study the mystery you embody. When you look up from that, the dub grass looks fresher a little ways off, and even more green farther on. Stay here. ~Lalla Dawn sky again, each round bestows silence to lips kissed by this illuminating color, sound, fragrance, touch, intuition clear -- Oh Beautiful Wisdom, streaming life, simple being, I Am this kiss, sun-spawned ripple, eternal moment sunk in Mind - none gone, none remained, not here, there. I Am. Here, where sky bolds into blue breathlessness and breathes again, everything returns - Love - golden, motionless. Dreamily, dreamless, bathed in two pools dripping naked suddenly seeing, knowing I am born. ~b There is the eye of the Sea and there is the foam. Leave the foam behind and look with the eye of the Sea. Day and night foam is born out of the the Sea: how strange! You keep looking at the foam and not at the Sea! ~Rumi When we are softened and opened enough to accept things as they actually are, to accept ourselves as we actually are, the old conflict, the wanting it all to be something other than it is, subsides. There is great mercy here. One can allow the anxious animals to move closer and huddle next to us -- all searching creatures of the daylight, yearning for the welcoming embrace of an eternal night. Vastness pumps itself through every bloodstream, circling an oasis named the heart. The heart is the Abode of Bliss, it has no boundary of flesh, thought, feeling. This bloodstream originates in the same source as anxious animals, lovers, sense of self. The energy required to resist and oppose is the same that powers the contraption of clinging. I left that rusting machine at the base of Cold Mountain, near the riverbank with my uniform of reason, and now I float, naked on the currents, dazzled by the glinting streambed stones passing swiftly beneath me. ~b For the human being which considers itself an entity to remain puzzled, Consciousness must produce new puzzles. All that is happening is that Consciousness is amusing itself. When the sense of "me" disappears completely, duality vanishes in ecstasy. ~Ramesh S. Balsekar The raging storm which flings itself with all its might against Cold Mountain wants nothing but to empty itself at last into the body of its willing lover and come to peace there, soaking into the welcoming soil and dying into life for life's sake only. Who could resist such a lover, who's single aim is but to breathe out one final breath into the mouth of the beloved? The peace that follows the storm is the child the family dotes on, the happy issue of the marriage between heaven and earth. A rainbow smile bridges two kingdoms, and all the relatives rejoice in praise! ~b Dharma means not holding onto any concept, so the Supreme dharma is to reject all dharmas. If you reject everything what will happen? All the burdens of all the religions and concepts will fall from your mind bringing you to the perfect Peace and Love, and this is your dharma. ~Papaji Unlike the dim city suitors with fine flared fangs for tongues and sharp iron spikes armoring their chests, the arms of this moon embrace the lover of night without threat or demand, simply offering a serene shine of suchness. People, men and woman alike, avert their glance, embarrassed when the robes of expectation fall away, revealing the empty futility of belief and hope. The naked kindness of this moonlight is a soothing balm for those who have weaned themselves of grasping. As the hot flavors of desire grow bitter and rancid, only the sweet spring water of surrender can cleanse the palate. When the One ruling water surveys the water worlds with clear moon eyes of compassion, what true heart can be concealed? ~b To exist means to be something, a thing, a feeling, a thought, an idea. All existence is particular. Only being is universal, in the sense that every being is compatible with every other being. Existences clash, being - never. Existence means becoming, change, birth and death and birth again, while in being there is silent peace. ~Nisargadatta Maharaj One second on Cold Mountain stretches on forever – in this spray of light, nothing rises up to be known or owned. Forms may appear, disappear in random, arbitrary procession, yet I take no notice of such phantoms. Heart-struck, I wander along a path I once may have memorized, now curiously bereft of memory. Tonight I'll scribble wordless poems. ~b LoveEternal.
