Guest guest
Solitude is in the mind of man. One mightbe in the thick of the world and maintainserenity of mind. Such a one is in solitude.Another may stay in a forest, but still be unableto control his mind. Such a man cannot be said tobe in solitude. Solitude is a function of the mind.A man attached to desires cannot get solitudewherever he may be, whereas a detached man isalways in solitude.~Sri Ramana Maharshi >From the translucent earthplum blossoms have sprung, swaying from their root, bark and branch -delighted by their own fragrance!I shall savor my own perfumewhen the flowering minddrops its petals. In Spring, drunk on plum wine –Oh, such inebriation! In Winter, awake while sleeping, talking through the dream, sober. ~b I have stilled my restless mind, and my heart isradiant: for in That-ness I have seen beyondThat-ness, in company I have seen the ComradeHimself.Living in bondage, I have set myself free: I havebroken away from the clutch of all narrowness.Kabir says: "I have attained the unattainable, and my heart is coloured with the colour of love."~Kabir Stepping through some anonymous doorway of rock and vine, stepping out of myself, there is just this gray misty mountainside. I take one step back inside and find I'm falling everywhere at once, yet everything stops at some sudden fragrance: O mysterious flower! The Golden One shows the way through the heart blossoming open - Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Swaha!~b Ishvara (God) is an object as a tree is an object.Your point of view in respect of the Absolute iscalled Ishvara. It is a point of view only, it doesnot really exist. If you cease to exist, it also goes. You will not see Ishvara when you reach theAbsolute. It is like an X in mathematics. It is a great helpin finding a solution but it is not in itself existingthere. Without it you cannot have the solutionand it in itself has no meaning. Ishvara cannotbe avoided as long as the world is seen withyour eyes. The Ishvara concept is an automatic outcomeof your belief in the reality of the world andwhen the world exists, ishvara has to existas the cause thereof, but if the world does notexist, Ishvara need not exist because if theeffect is not there, what is the use of the cause?~Swami Krishnananda By itself nothing has existence. Everything needsits own absence. To be, is to be distinguishable,to be here and not there, to be now and not then,to be thus and not otherwise. Like water is shapedby the container, so is everything determined byconditions (gunas). As water remains waterregardless of the vessels, as light remains itselfregardless of the colours it brings out, so does thereal remain real, regardless of conditions in whichit is reflected. Why keep the reflection only in thefocus of consciousness? Why not the real itself?~Nisargadatta Maharaj Like something, like anythingBig wheels crush puddlesYet you maintainThe wry credulity.Ash herdersHerd theirs ashesHome, across the eyelid skySo slow, so slowYou start to cryLike candle waxYou trickle downLike falling leavesCome floating down,Down the swayingSides of skyLike some sereneYou slide on downThrough milky mood aquariumsAnd mantra sanitariumsThrough arcane mental miscellanyLike a snowflake missionaryMelting in the airAbove the groundYou mellow downThrough the mists of vague perceptionPast the place of precious thingsWhere the salivation armiesOf the million sirens sing.Through fields of pod plantsSpewing sporesThrough layers of succulentMetaphorsThrough vestibules of narcoticMonotonyHeavy metal drum CacophonyPast graveyards filled with lost connections Soldiers saluting at attentionPrickly spears of fear phantasmsFright parades and trite charadesAlchemical masqueradesSo slow, so slowYou slide on downTo blend with sleep and simile,Surrendered to the eleventh degreeWith déjà vuUpon your lips andBest intentionsBetween your hipsPerhaps to dream the casual dream:Waiting, waitingIn frail pale lightIt matters little –Day or night –Waiting, waiting, not knowingFor whatThe wind chimesAll of a suddenStopYou turn and startTo say some thing,Some thing you thinkYou thought you heardAbout the silence of the birdsAbout the culling of the herdAbout futility of beliefAbout desire for reliefPerhaps to turn aroundNow& exhaleYou keep sliding downBetween your breathBetween your thoughtsAllowing all -If all be naught –And all returnsAs you returnLike ice to waterNight to dayWhence animals stretch and stroll awayThe starsOn scheduleShudders stillA frog leaps off The window sillAnd hops straight for the bushes.Household deities stripe the sky,First streak, then stammer –Hammered into placeIn space. There is no traceOf any ash,The eye flies openWide –For once You waking up reply:Today no saint,Tonight no suicide! The best of you becomes HELLOThe rest of you GOOD-BYEBut that's all right,Tonight!Yes? The Guru is notconfined to a body. Being a realised soul, heprevades the universe and as he is like God Himself,he can help the aspirant wherever he goes.~Swami Krishnananda When you have understood that all existence,in separation and limitation, is painful, andwhen you are willing and able to live integrally,in oneness with all life, as pure being, you havegone beyond all need of help. You can help anotherby precept and example and, above all, by yourbeing. You cannot give what you do not have andyou don't have what you are not. You can only givewhat you are - and of that you can give limitlessly.~Nisargadatta Maharaj Truth is exact correspondence with reality. True friends want nothing from you except the joy of your presence. No matter what you do they will always be your friend. The kingdom of God is just behind the darkness of closed eyes, and The first gate that opens to it is your peace. Live simply and take life more easily. Happiness lies in giving yourself More time to think and to introspect. Be alone once in awhile, and Remain more in silence. Let my soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts. Giving love to all, feeling the love of God,seeing His presence in everyone . . . .that is the way to live in this world. If you have given up hope of ever being happy, cheer up. Never lose hope. Your soul, being a reflection of the ever joyous Spirit, is, in essence, happiness itself. Essentially, conditions are neither good nor bad; they are always neutral, seeming to be either depressing or encouraging because of the sad or bright attitude of the mind of the individual concerned with them. Change your thoughts if you wish to change your circumstances. Since you alone are responsible for your thoughts, only you can change them. You will want to change them when you realize that each thought creates according to its own nature. Remember that the law works at all times and that you are always demonstrating according to the kind of thoughts you habitually entertain. Only those who partake of the harmony within their souls know the harmony that runs through nature. Whosoever lacks this inner harmony feels also a lack of it in the world. The mind in chaos finds chaos all around. How can one know what peace is like if he has never tasted it? But he who has inner peace can abide in this state even in the midst of outer discord. Calmness is the living breath of God's immortality in you. ~Paramahansa Yogananda LoveEternal.Protect your PC - Click here for McAfee.com VirusScan Online
