Guest guest
You are right Tim and I will pass this on to as well. Discrimination is a key, but perhaps not the key, or it may mean different things to different people. One could argue that up to certain point discrimination is needed, and then one surrenders to the Heart. Approaches vary due to the inherent tendencies of people. If one inquires about the nature of the discriminator that precedes discrimination, the focus of the energy shifts. Different perspectives don't imply right or wrong, just different angles of visions. The advaita doctrine of "neti, neti" is based on a sharp sense of discriminating the real from the unreal. Merging with Reality, the "I am" sense of individuality itself gets lost, so discrimination and choices, etc. become a moot point. It is taught in Advaita Vedanta, that the sleep states and waking states should be carefully analyzed and one should see how that which is real and eternal permeates all states of consciousness. Being fully awake while being fully sleep is called Nirvikalpa Samadhi. The mind along with its faculty of discrimination, choices, and possibilities is resolved back into its source. All really leading to the point where one realises that there is nothing to discriminate on, only your own attitude, and mental state. This leading to the eventual result that nothing is happening at all. Re: Patanjali. There is a danger of getting side tracked here if one is not careful, especially as the texts were obviously written by more than one person.........Om Sakti.......Saktidass.
