(breathing sin and cigarettes and reeking of light,

a bottomless bliss-mouth brightens and awaits the taste

Communicant:

(starry-eyed simpleton staring at the pound of flesh,

a breathless birdling with beak open wide,

honey-tongue and happy-heart fluttering

like pale pink moths in the moonlight,

like the moist, moonlit pail in Chiyo-no's pale hands

as she parted with all parting forever,

catapulted into the Heart of Christ,

went beyond the shadow of dark into bright.

The silence grew deep and abided.)

 

Father Mike:

 

"Do you take communion, child?"

 

Communicant:

 

"Yes."

 

Father Mike:

 

"This is the body of Christ."

 

Communicant:

(visions of Saint Catherine healing a sea of humanity

and the sea is me and i am drowning and all are drowning

Namaste,

 

I remember as a Catholic Altar Boy, always musing over the 'mystery',

of the consecration. Never could quite accept it as the rest of my

Irish Catholic Family did.

 

Eventually when I got into Vedanta and re-read about Jesus. I

realised He was speaking as a Jivanmukti and that of course the wafer

was His body and blood as so was everything else.......Om
