Guest guest
Dear Mace and all, I wasn't intending to "praise" deRuiter the man, as someone said I was, just by passing on a quote which did (and still does) strike me as a worthwhile thought. I knew nothing about him, till Sarlo passed on that link. As I mentioned at NDS, next we will need to do extensive background checks on everyone we quote. The quote kinda reminded me of how James says, "There is no way TO Love, but Love is the way." None of this means I would recommend people follow de Ruiter as a messiah or guru, but neither do I totally condemn him. People on these lists have often mentioned they found the earlier writings of Osho and Da Free John very profound and isn't it just too sad how they declined later on. And I still like Clinton, think he did a lot of good for the people, and his sex life would have been nobody's business if the Republicans weren't looking for some way to hang him. And the list of guru scandals is a long one. I'm no saint myself, in case there was any doubt, and if that means I cannot speak any about spiritual matters, then I may as well leave now. And those are just some of the reasons I appreciate what you said in your poem, Mace. Your wisdom is very balanced. Well, while can a one legged man can pass the salt at the dinner table, it doesn't mean he may not be the greatest dance partner. If one who is speaking has unusual sexual proclivities, it's ok to listen, as long as you keep your pants on. If something significant or profound is being said and you trust your heart to recognize it, what does it matter where it comes from? Even a frogs croak can inspire a vision of heaven, but it doesn't mean you must form an attachment to the frog.../join The Heart is the Self. The Self is the Heart. I'd like to say that it keeps me from walking in circles, but about the best it does is make the circles bigger. ..
