Honesty was very much a part of that story. because 'Mike' was totally incapable of lying. He was trained by Martians from birth. Mike started a cult to teach the Martian ways of Truth!, Open sex!, and 2 dollars at the door! for new members. With statements like: "<cut>....and never need water" which I found at John's web sight are like Heinlein's: "Drink deep and never thirst" in the book. It was a water *sharing* ritual that after you shared water you could never harm your new water brother. Heilein would want John to be *true* to his book.
