Guest guest
To see without coloration, to act without tendencies, that is the egoless state. Pure consciousness without attributes. The philosophers want to say there is no one there. Well, you can put it that way if you want. That is what it means. Tendencies are boundaries that we define ourselves with. That is how we know ourselves as apart from others. Our tendencies are slightly different. No tendencies, no limits. Omnipotence. No tendencies is omniscience. There is nothing to block accurate perception. There are no tendencies to block other tendencies so memory is perfect. Whatever is needed is known. Only when the ego, which is the last tendency, is destroyed and not just submerged, the final truth is known. The result of meditation is better meditation. By its presence, meditation is the active destruction of tendencies because they continue to exist only by reinforcement. A humble opinion. Peace Bobby G. If the ego is an illusion, how can you destroy it? > The result of meditation is better meditation. ( I'm sorry the word "destroy" bugs me) Since it is not like a "foot" (which one could blow up or chop off) > A humble opinion. > > Peace > Bobby G. You can't drop it untill you know what it is.(I"m pretty sure somebody BIG said that!) Peace Bobby G!

Hi Shawn: Good to hear from you again! That phrase is something I would have said so I will try to answer as if I had just said it. I see your point. The non-exitence of it makes moot its destruction. What the phrase I did write tries to show is the difference between the ego losing presence but returning and one which does not return, ie, destroyed. > > The result of meditation is better meditation. The lack of reinforcement of the tendency breaks its dominance. Overcome the little things first and get strong for the bigger ones later. You're right it is not taking a cannon and blowing it up with one shot. It is winning by attrition. > > > A humble opinion. > > > > Peace > > Bobby G. > > You can't drop it untill you know what it is.(I"m pretty sure somebody BIG > said that!)
